The 25th anniversary edition of Civilization VI has been announced, but is going to be limited. 2K Games has revealed that premium version has only 20,000 copies being made. Priced at $90, it is going to be available with select retailers, including Amazon.
The bundle is going to comprise the game along with the Aztech preorder bonus as well as the content featured in the digital deluxe version. Also, the bundle will include physical items like 25th anniversary coin set, display case and a 100-page hardcover art book, named Civilization Through the Years. What more, all of this excitement comes contained inside special package designed around the anniversary celebrations.
Debuted in 1991, the Civilization series were created by Sid Meier. The strategy game franchise has sold 35 million units worldwide across all the entries.
“The vitality of Civilization is in the new ideas that each design team brings to the game as well as the passion and feedback from an incredible community,” Meier stated. “We hope players enjoy the vibrant living world and the new features the team has created in this latest offering. I’m proud of the work they’ve done, and I hope you will enjoy playing Civilization VI as much as they’ve enjoyed making it.”
2K announced that 90 days after the release of Civilization VI (on October 21), the Aztech civilization preorder pack will be made public for everyone; this implies it will be out by January 2017.
The game’s deluxe edition comes with four expansion packs, which include new maps, civilizations, scenarios, leaders and game’s soundtracks. We suggest you not go for the standalone packs, when you buy the Anniversary or the digital deluxe edition (for $80). You might be charged for same. The pricing for individual packs has not been declared yet.
