Canon unveils new PowerShot G9 X Mark II: Features & price details

Canon just refreshed its range of premium point-and-shoot cameras – the PowerShot series, with the PowerShot G9 X Mark II Digital Camera. It’s very compact for the level of function that this camera has to offer.

Features

The camera will feature a 20.2 megapixel sensor that sizes itself around 1 inch. It comes packed with the feature-rich DIGIC 7 image processor, known to provide much better subject tracking as well scene detection. What’s also convenient about this phone for users on the go is that it can also pair itself with smartphones via Bluetooth for sharing photos. But it’s not just for those light users.

The G9 X Mark II is the first Canon PowerShot digital camera equipped with Bluetooth 1 Smart

It’s got an improved time-lapse movie mode, as well as some much-needed RAW conversion. The time lapse mode will take images at brief intervals and then merge those shots together into a small movie clip. So Pros and also casual users will have a lot of fun with the device. Apart from Bluetooth, it’s got built-in Wi-Fi, NFC4, a compact 3” touch panel LCD as well as the ability shoot in continuous burst modes at 8.2 fps in both JPG and PNG formats.

Physically, the camera looks neat and doesn’t seem like it’ll be difficult to approach and start clicking with. Just four buttons on the back with the shutter button and the scroller up top, it’s pretty ergonomic. The images reveal a retractable flash within the camera body for when photographers want to completely blow up their photos with light in the dark.

Availability and pricing

The Canon PowerShot G9 X Mark II digital camera will be available in February 2017 and will retail for a price of $529.99

Apart from upgrading their compact camera line-up, the company has also introduced three new camcorders to their Vixia range of camcorders, namely the R82, R80 and R800. All of them will feature a 57x zoom, optical image stabilization, a 3.28-megapixel 1080p CMOS sensor, along with a 3-inch LCD. The only thing different between the three will be the storage specs and will be priced at $450, $400 and $300 for the R82, R80 and R800. These will also arrive next month.
