Canon debuts EOS Rebel T7i and EOS 77D; Will go on sale in April

Canon has something to excite amateur photographers around the world. The Japanese digital imaging company has just announced two new DSLRs in the form of EOS Rebel T7i and EOS 77D. Both the models are entry-level and fall under the famed Rebel series.

The Canon EOS line of SLRs was first introduced in the year 1987. The latest two additions mark 30 years since Canon first brought the EOS 650.

Important Highlights

In the new EOS Rebel T7i and EOS 77D, Canon utilizes its Dual Pixel CMOS AF to deliver the world’s fastest AF focusing speed of 0.03 seconds. Both, equipped with built-in Wi-Fi, NFC and Bluetooth technology, feature an optical viewfinder with a 45-point All Cross-type AF system.

Other highlights include a 3.0-inch LCD vari-angle touch screen, 24.2 megapixel CMOS sensor, Digic 7 image processor and high-speed continuous shooting at up to 6.0 frames per second. The gadgets are made compatible with Canon Connect Station CS100, a portable media hub for storing photos and videos.

Other Notable Features

While EOS Rebel T7i is being marketed for amateurs, the EOS 77D, Canon says, is for advanced amateur photographers. In the former, users will be able to see on-screen how switching modes on the mode dial or tweaking settings can alter the image they are about to capture. As for the EOS 77D, users have an anti-flickering mode to prevent repetitive flickering and quick control dial for easier access to changing and controlling settings on the camera.

Release Date & Price

For those eager to get their hands on one, Canon will be launching both the cameras around April. The Canon EOS Rebel T7i will be priced at $750, while the Canon EOS 77D will retail for $900.
