‘Blush’ Gold to be new color option for iPhone 8, expected to start shipping Sept 22

The new iPhone 8 is going to drop a lot of jaws. And the reason behind that will not just be the price tag or the various features it will pack, but how it will look. There are so far three color options that will be offered when the phone is released and one of them is is confirmed to be quite exotic.

Apple may most likely be removing one of its most popular colors for its next smartphone that will hit store shelves. A leak that originated from Twitter showed two images of what would be the official iPhone 8 SIM card tray, and one of the photos shows a standard grey colored SIM tray, while the other one was slightly pink. The tweet had suggested that the phone’s color variants will include Silver, Black and what would be called “Blush” Gold. This could mean that the company will be ditching the regular Rose Gold color variant that has been seen on so many iPhone generations in the past. But how different this Blush Gold will compare to Rose Gold is yet to be seen. It may also just be an alternate naming scheme for the color option as well.

The images of the tray show a metallic and shiny color, but the phone itself will not hold the same type of sheen, meaning that the phone itself may be a lot glossier in its finish. Apple does have a history of introducing new color variants on iPhones. Yellow gold with the iPhone 6, which was followed by a pinky, rose gold in the 6s. For the 7, it launched two new colors – jet black and black. We also got to eventually see a Red version of the iPhone 7 later on. This year too, the company will be garnering excitement and speculation with the introduction of a new color variant. We might even see more colors at the actual launch of the phone when it is announced.

According to Computer World, the company will be announcing its new range of smartphones at the Steve Jobs Theatre at its Apple Park on September 12 and will ship its devices 10 days later. Costing up to $1299, the new generation of iPhones are expected to be the biggest selling smartphones this season. Statistics are also backing this claim, as 18 percent of consumers are ready and willing to invest in the new devices. 32.4 percent of existing Apple iPhone owners are also expected to upgrade their old iPhones for the anniversary edition.
