The ZenFone 4 and the ZenFone 4 Pro have received much hype and speculation in the last few months, especially surrounding the different variants that will feature the ZenFone name and availability. Now, the internet has some fresh information regarding Asus’s new line.
New reports indicate that the ZenFone 4 and the ZenFone 4 Pro will be arriving next week; August 17 to be precise, as per the official invite for the phones. Until recently, the only specifications that have been reported regarding the ZenFone line have only been for the Pro variant. Now, Roland Quandt who is a leakster, has tweeted that the Asus ZenFone 4 Pro will feature 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
It will also feature the Snapdragon 835 and will retail for $650. This should be directly in competition with the OnePlus 5, which has been dominating the market of late. The specifications of the ZenFone 4 Pro do match the earlier rumored specs and prices of the device.
Specifications of the ZenFone 4 will include 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It will also come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC while it will have another version that will feature the Snapdragon 660 SoC allegedly. The phone will be retailing, when available, for somewhere in the realm of $400. The phone will also be the first to run the Snapdragon 630 processor. As far as optics, materials and display go, we can expect typical mid-range quality features and nothing too impressive in terms of bleeding edge tech.
The ZenFone series will come in the form of the ZenFone 4, the ZenFone 4 Pro, the ZenFone 4V, the ZenFone 4 Selfie and the ZenFone 4 Max. All of these variants are said to be revealed in the official unveiling of the line-up next week. Earlier, the ZenFone Max was released in Russia, and featured a 5.5-inch display with 1080p resolution and came with either a Snapdragon 430 octa-core or 425 quad-core SoC. It featured a dual-lens camera set up on the back with 13MP each and a front-facing 8MP selfie snapper. The smartphone also featured a 5,000mAh battery. Whether the rest of the world will be receiving the same variant as the Russians did is still undecided, but it seems likely that we will be seeing the same ZenFone Max next week as well.
The ZenFone series has always given brands like Xiaomi and Motorola’s G series good competition in terms of features and this year seems no different.
