Apple’s SF event today will unveil iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus & Apple Watch 2

Apple will launch two new smartphones and a smartwatch on Wednesday at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, California.

The much-awaited event will reportedly see the unveiling of iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and Apple Watch 2.

The launch date is very close to the Sept. 9 date the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus was unveiled last year.

The event, which is scheduled to start at 10:00 am PDT, will be streamed live for desktops, tablets and smartphones.

For months, rumours have been swirling around the purported features of Apple’s flagship device. Both Apple iPhone 7 and the 7 Plus is expected to do away with the headphone jack and offer audio via the Lightning Port.

The upcoming device should also start at either 32 or 64GB and go up to either 128GB or 256 GB. Reports also suggest an increase in RAM, 2GB for the iPhone 7 and 3GB for the Plus.

The Apple iPhone 7 is said to sport the Apple A10 chipset with the M10 motion co-processor. It will have a dual camera setup, a pressure sensitive home button, Bluetooth-supported headphones and dual speakers at the bottom.

Apple will probably launch the iPhone 7 starting US $ 699 for the base unlocked variant.

Pre-orders should begin with a few hours from launch.

Apple is expected to keep the same price points as previous generations for the new device.

With the continued decline in iPhone sales, the Cupertino giant is hoping it can bounce back and surpass its rivals. With Samsung recalling close to 2.5 million Galaxy Note 7 smartphones over battery explosions last week, the degree of competition is already lessened and Apple is to make best use of the opportunity.
