While it was already known that Apple will be hosting a product launch on September 12, fans will be waiting for a new iPhone 8 and two new other iPhone devices. The company will most likely host the event in the new Steve Jobs Theatre this year. Previous launches used to take place at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco. In preparation for the launch, Apple has increased production of the iPhone 8 to meet its stock requirements once it becomes available.
Other challenges that Apple might be facing will be the construction of the venue, which is yet to be completed. The company will be pushing its progress to meet the timing of the event. Apple is also ramping up the production of the iPhone 8 as it is expected that there will be high-demand following the oncoming holiday season. Market research company 451 Research reports that 52 percent of people who are planning to purchase a smartphone in the next 90 days will most likely opt to buy an iPhone. With a starting price expected to be at $1,000, the iPhone 8 will not come cheap. Apple is also expected to reach $50 million in sales in this quarter of the year, thanks to iPhone sales.
Buyers will be paying for a new edge-to-edge OLED screen, dual cameras, wireless charging. Considering that the phone will be following the current trend in the smartphone world, making it the most up-to-date iPhone yet. But there is one unique feature that will set the smartphone apart from the crowd, which the addition of Augmented Reality. It will help in capturing better photos and considering the AR works better in a horizontal orientation when the phone is in landscape mode. The company has previously not delved into development of AR applications and has been fairly quiet about what it has been up to. With the company’s newly introduced ARKit, more developers will be able to integrate AR-related apps such as Niantic’s Pokemon AR game, more easily.
The iPhone 8 may prove to be trouble for Android phones on the software front, according to BGR, as iOS 11 is known to feature unique software features, such as special stickers and effects for its iMessage messaging platform. When the new iPhones do eventually release, they will still have to face other unique competitors in the form of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and the new Google Pixel 2 smartphones.
