AccuWeather’s new app for Android Wear 2.0 provides 6 different ‘complications’

The Google Play Store’s favourite weather app – AccuWeather, has just released a new version of their app for Android Wear 2.0. The company decided to move with the times and adapt to the convenience of new, more effective software that the new Wear platform offers. The app promises some new features, with enhanced weather detection facilities.

Users can now stay up to date on the weather on-the-go, with the AccuWeather app for their smart watches. It will be a completely customizable app which allows users to choose between receiving various weather alerts, depending on the location that the user chooses, it will also allow users to check the Celsius and Fahrenheit differences in temperature. It will use the GPS of the smartwatch in order to get real-time readings of the weather all over the globe.

More importantly, the app also now adds a new watch-face to the Android Wear 2.0 interface which is clean and provides all the information that the user will need. All the regular suspects will also be present in the app such as the RealFeel temperature feature, wind speed and much more. There are an overall six complications for users to choose from. By tapping on a complication will allow the app to pop up and show a 12-hour forecast. Tapping twice on the complication will allow the user to receive information about daily forecasts and three taps will enable the connected Android phone to open the app for showcasing other detailed information. The app will be available for free from the Google Play Store, but some features will require in-app purchases for users to enjoy the breadth of the app’s services.

It is a good sign that more and more apps are embracing the new software that comes with Android 2.0. This will make the platform more agreeable to users and will encourage them to upgrade in order to receive these new features. The standalone app will provide users with enough information for them to carry during a long trek or jog and help them get the information they need just at the watch face. Each can be personalized with the watch-face, allowing for complete customization for the user.
