Acer, of late has been known for producing one of the most powerful notebooks this year, and probably for years to come, thanks to its Predator 21X. The company has also released some more realistically spec’d laptops too, among them, the Acer Nitro 5, a Spin convertible, as well as a couple of tablets.
The Nitro 5 is a budget gaming notebook, whose segment has seen quite a lot of popularity in the past few months with various manufacturers such as Asus, Lenovo and Dell adding their own budget gaming machines. The Nitro 5 will feature a 15.6-inch display having a Full-HD resolution. The laptop will also feature a USB Type-C port, 1 USB 3.0 ports, 2 USB 2.0 ports along with an HDMI 2.0 port. The laptop will come with Core i5 and Core i7 processors or AMD FX A10 and A12 processors. On the GPU department, the laptop will go up to the NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti or the AMD Radeon RX 550, with both offering decent graphics for 1080p gaming. The RAM on the laptop will also go up to 32GB along with a PCIe SSD for faster transfer speeds.
PC Mag reports about the new Spin 1, which is an 11.6-inch convertible. The screen will be an FHD panel and has multiple modes such as a tent mode, a tablet, a laptop as well as a stand-alone display. The device is thin and light with a 0.55-inch chassis and a 2.76-pound weight. What the Spin 1 celebrates in design, it sacrifices in specifications, offering a modest configuration which includes a Pentium or Celeron processor with 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage.
Regarding the tablets, Acer has two in store for customers, with one being the Iconia Tab 10 and the Iconia Tab One 10. Each of the tablets has a MediaTek quad-core CPU with Android Nougat. Both tablets sport a 10-inch IPS display and offer 8-hours of battery life. The Tab 10 will feature four speakers with its own sub-woofer and will also offer a quantum dot display, compared to the Tab One 10. Apart from those two features, the two tablets are identical.
No release date has been set aside for the tablets and the Spin 1, but according to a report by Windows Central, the Nitro 5 budget gaming laptop is said to be made available from July in North America with a price of $799, following which, it will release in EMEA from August.
