Even as Samsung is struggling with the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco, the company has gone ahead and launched a new device for the Indian market, the Galaxy A9 Pro.
The dual SIM smartphone was launched on Friday with a price tag of Rs 32,490.
The Galaxy A9 Pro sports a glass and metal design and is packed with high end features for performance and scalability. The 6-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display and 16-megapixel camera with Optical Image Stabilisation alone proves the point.
Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor paired with a 4GB RAM. The internal memory of 32GB is expandable up to 256GB via microSD card.
The Galaxy A9 Pro runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is backed by an impressive 5,000mAh battery. The rear camera of 16MP comes with with f/1.9 aperture, autofocus and LED Flash. For selfies, the phone offers an 8MP camera.
For connectivity purposes, the device supports WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, ANT+, USB 2.0 and NFC.
Other features include: a fingerprint scanner, fast charging (full charging in 160mins), sensors (proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, accelerometer, etc) and the full HD display protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 4.
Samsung India said the phone is designed for multitasking and comes with higher memory, advanced processor and one of the largest batteries in the industry for lasting use.
