Apple’s iPhone 7 is almost here. Rumors concerning the release date continue to circulate. Confirming a few of them, KGI Securities’ analyst Ming Chi Kuo in his new report said the upcoming iPhone 7 will include the Apple A10 processor which will be clocked at 2.4GHz.
Well-known for accurate Apple predictions, Kuo further notes that the iPhone 7 will come in two new color options – ‘dark black’ and glossy ‘piano black’. The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus could come in total five colours. It is reportedly going to have the same basic design as both the iPhone 6 and 6S.
The 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus will include 3GB of RAM whereas the 4.7-inch iPhone 7 comes packed with 2GB of RAM.

According to KGI report, the iPhone 7 will be powered by a new Apple A10 chip manufactured by TSMC using a new ‘InFO’ process. Going by the leaked benchmarks, Apple A10 chipset is expected to be as powerful as the A9X chipset
KGI report notes the dual camera will enable optical zoom and ‘light field camera applications’. Both cameras will feature 12 megapixel sensors.
Apple is expected to launch both the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus with 32GB storage as base variant and will also be available in 128GB and 256GB storage variants.
Apple is likely to introduce iPhone 7 with redesigned home button that won’t be clickable like the existing home button. The Cupertino giant is also likely to drop the 3.5mm headphone jack in favour of the bottom-facing dual stereo speakers.
KGI is expecting only 65 million units of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus to be shipped by the end of 2016.
Apple is holding a media event on 7 September. It will likely be the biggest technology event of 2016, when it will unveil the new iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, and a range of headphones.
