Vivo rumored to release X9 and X9 Plus on Nov 17

Chinese smartphone maker Vivo is rumored to be prepping two smartphones for release on November 17. The devices though will be succeeding X6 and X6 Plus, will not come in the number that should otherwise follow. It will rather be monikered X9 and X9 Plus.

The high-end models will compete with the likes of Huawei’s Mate 9 and Galaxy S7 series. Featuring an aluminium metal body, the devices will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. They will be powered by a Snapdragon processor with 3GB/4GB of RAM and have different storage options. A new leak also has it that the handset will sport a dual-camera setup with a 12MP Sony Exmor IMX 260 lens.

Both the devices will be launched at an event in Beijing, China. The news comes just days after Vivo released the Vivo Y67. The 4G-enabled device is part of the Y series and retails at 1798 Yuan ($265).

The selfie-focused smartphone comes in two color variants – Rose gold and Champagne, and sports a metal unibody design with 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display.

On the hardware front, the device is powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor and comes with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

The dual-SIM phone houses a fingerprint scanner and supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS, and a Micro USB port. The camera being the highlight, the Y67 has a generous 16MP front-facing camera with LED flash and a 13MP autofocus rear camera with full HD video recording.
