Security updates, bug fixes for Chrome OS users on Beta channel

Google has released an update for Chrome OS’ Beta channel. Those on the experimental version will see a number of security updates and feature enhancements starting Wednesday.

The Beta channel has been updated to 53.0.2785.100 (Platform version: 8530.80.0). The updates would however not feature on those with Samsung Chromebook, Lenovo Thinkpad X131e Chromebook, Samsung Chromebook 2 11″, Cr-48, Lenovo N20 Chromebook, Acer C7 Chromebook and Acer C720 Chromebook.

“This build contains a number of bug fixes, security updates and feature enhancements,” the Chrome dev team said in a blogpost.

Beta channel is for Chromebook users eager to see upcoming changes and improvements with low risk. It is updated every week, with major updates coming every 6 weeks. Google has also made it easy to switch channels to a stable version through the Settings.
