Samsung’s C9 Pro release: Features & specs on the mid-range device

Samsung is about to release a new big smartphone. It was earlier spotted on Chinese retailer T-Mall and is now available for purchase. After rumors that Samsung is making a new smartphone upwards of 5.5-inches and now it’s finally shown itself as the Galaxy C9 Pro.

Currently, China seems to be the only market in which the phone will be available, but hopefully, it should become available over the next few weeks around the world. The phone will pack 6GB of RAM, making it now the standard for mid-spec range phones to carry that sort of memory and also being Samsung’s first phone to pack one. The display panel will feature a FHD screen at 6-inches. We’re expecting the phone to be sizeably big compared to its competition.

It’ll also feature Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 653 chipset – an octa-core CPU that has four A72 cores and four energy efficient A53 cores, both ARM Cortex components. Since it’s a Snapdragon, it’ll come with an Adreno GPU, and on this one, we get the Adreno 510. The performance on this phone should be pretty decent, considering it doesn’t need push double the pixels as much as the flagships out there.

It’s got some great optics – 16MP cameras on both the front and back of the device. So photo quality should be top-notch, since both feature a wide-angle lens at f/1.9 aperture. To fit those high-quality selfies and shots in the device, it comes with a built-in 64GB of storage and if users want some more, there’s a micro-SD card slot available too. This device already is sounding like a dream come true.

But wait, there’s more – it comes with USB Type-C, two SIM slots and a Hi-Fi audio codec by Cirrus. Also, it will come with Samsung Pay that lets users pay for goods using their NFC enabled phone. This won’t be any ordinary mid-tier phone, clearly. The phone will come with Android Marshmallow out of the box with TouchWiz layered over it, but it’ll be a mouth-watering option if Nougat arrives. That big screen could make good use of Nougat’s multi-window functionality.

There are only two color options for the C9 Pro – Gold and Rose Gold as of now. Considering that the color options are quite tasteful, it seems like Samsung wants to aim this to people with an eclectic taste. It’ll be available for $470 online. But we’re still awaiting its international launch. The only thing it’s got in its way from being a runaway hit is the Note’s combustible feature.

Fingers crossed, nevertheless!
