Report: Apple’s own video recording and sharing app soon

Soon your iPhone will feature a cutting-edge video sharing and editing application developed by Apple.

Seen as an attempt to woo younger users, Apple is desperate to come out with eye-grabbing applications and services. One such is the development of the app that will allow users to record video, edit and even apply filters.

Apple’s own app that will allow video recording, editing, and sharing in less than one minute.

Social-media services has been a turning point for companies. Facebook’s Messenger, WeChat, Snapchat and Instagram are eclipsing older platforms and are engaging young audiences, typically in the 16 – 24 bracket. Apple is looking for a slice of the market share with its own simplified video sharing app for its iPhone and iPad operating systems.

According to Bloomberg, the app is being developed by the same team that developed Final Cut Pro and iMovie software. Apple reportedly hired Joe Weil to head the project. Weil is credit for the success of the video blogging app called KnowMe.

“The software is currently being designed to be used mostly with one hand and with the intention that video could be shot, edited, and uploaded in less than 1 minute,” Bloomberg writes. “The goal behind the project’s development is to offer simple video editing with tools that appeal to the generation of users.”

Apple has not disclosed much on the app’s features or release. In addition to the video sharing app, Apple has also been working on “multiple social-related features” for iOS over the past year.
