PetMio is a smart tracker that can create organic recipes for pets

On a personal note, more users are becoming increasingly health conscience, owing to the increase in popularity of fitness trackers and active wear. It is interesting to note that while humans are becoming so health-conscience, there is no careful way to track their pets’ health. This is where PetMio comes is and introduces new smart health trackers for their pets.

According to Digital Trends, PetMio was launched via Kicststarter and consists of a range of smart health tracking products and food, made entirely for users’ pets. The most unique feature of PetMio is its non-invasive method of attachment to pets as the tracker can be attached to the pet’s collar, without them being disturbed. The tracker will keep watch of the pet’s sleep and physical activity. The device will come in various colours, styles and sizes, made especially cats and dogs.

All of the data that is taken up by the tracker is then fed into the smart food bowl and matches the health requirements and monitors the pet’s eating habits. Using scales, it will be known to pet owners of how much their pet is actually eating and how many nutrients they are receiving. All of the information is synced to the companion app and analysed by the Intelligent Nutrition System. Over time, the app will personalize the habits of the pet and create a custom recipe that will be made specifically for the user’s pet based on their needs. How PetMio will do this, is by taking and algorithm in place and matching the requirements of the breed, the pet’s age, behaviour and some other information to match the nutritional guidelines. The food to be made is fully organic and comes in special pouches that have been measured in precise amounts. The food pouches will be sent to users’ homes on a monthly basis.

What is more reassuring is that the packaged food is all analysed and vetted by expert veterinarians, food scientists, along with both software and hardware engineers. The device and its peripherals are sold in bundles for cats and dogs. Early bird prices will start at $94 for cats and go all the way up to $240 for dogs. The bundle will include the tracker, the bowl and a month’s worth of food. For continued service of food, users will have pay for a subscription which will cost $18 and $43 a month for cats, and will cost between $58 and $93. For a larger dog, the cost can go as high as $214 or more.

Once successfully funded, the company will start deliveries from April of 2018.
