The thinnest smartphone to date, the OnePlus 5 has arrived the Indian shores. The flagship was launched on Thursday and will be exclusively available through Amazon India.
For weeks, OnePlus has been running advertisements in both print and broadcast media on its new creation. The pricing has been kept affordable to enjoy a home run in the world’s fastest-growing smartphone market. The base model is priced at just Rs 32,990 ($510). While that is for the 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant, consumers can get the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant for Rs 38,990 ($587).
Like in the US and Europe, OnePlus will be hosting pop-up events in New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chennai where the smartphone will be available for purchase offline. The OnePlus 5 launch was held in Mumbai and also live-streamed via YouTube.
If you are still uninformed on the hardware, then you are in for a treat. The OnePlus 5 is the thinnest and sleekest flagship from the company and is only 7.25 mm in thickness. Buyers have two color options Midnight Black and a Slate Grey.
You have a aluminum body and the screen is of 5.5-inch 1080P Full HD resolution display (1920 x 1080 pixels) with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top. OnePlus 5 runs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor.
For pictures, there is a 16MP+20MP dual rear camera and 16MP front camera. Further, it can record up to 4K resolution, and comes with Electronic Image Stabilization for stable videos. OnePlus 5 comes equipped with a 3300 mAh battery with Dash Charging support.
