Nokia 2 gives you more for $100 than the iPhone X at $1000

The nimble yet capable Nokia 2 smartphone, which has been doing the rounds lately, has finally been released to the public for the humble price of $100 via Amazon and Best Buy, exclusively for the US markets.

HMD owned Nokia first launches its phones in China and then thinks about moving them globally. Both Best Buy and Amazon have apparently seemed to have run out of stocks as their respective pages show that the phone is currently unavailable for sale. Which makes sense, as considering the phone’s specifications and the software set, the proposition for just $100 would be quite tempting. Nokia has also promised that the phone would get regular monthly security updates as well. The phone packs some extraordinary features for its price-bracket.

Some of those extraordinary features include a 5-inch HD LCD display, with a whopping 4,100mAh battery. It will be one among the few phones to feature the entry-level Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 processor. At the back, the phone gets an 8MP camera and a 5MP front-facing selfie shooter. The phone also comes with 8GB of internal storage as well as 1GB of RAM. There is room for a microSD card and there is also a headphone jack included, fortunately. At the price of $100, it is a steal, and rightly so. The phone will join the rest of its siblings, who have all successfully managed to put a dent into their respective segments, like the Nokia 5, Nokia 6, Nokia 7 and Nokia 8. The Nokia 2 will be placed just below the Nokia 3. While the Nokia does come with Android Nougat 7.1.1 out of the box, we can likely expect Oreo to pop in sometime soon as well, considering that Nokia has promised for timely updates.

The phone will be a good option for those looking for a backup smartphone or for the first-time smartphone user, like a teenager. The price has not prevented Nokia from cheapening its quality also, with the phone boasting an aluminium frame build and gorilla glass protection for the display. The promising two-day battery backup will also ensure that users get the most of their phone, whenever they need it.

Nokia sure is taking the smartphone world by storm, thanks to its very simply-named devices that offer features defined by function over form and the Nokia 2 is the best addition to that mind-set by the company.
