For all those MacBook addicts, Apple is rumored to bring a significant upgrade to the internal components in the upcoming laptop line.
The next MacBook Pro will have significant hardware upgrades.
Apple is expected to release a new 15-inch MacBook Pro with Intel’s next-generation Kaby Lake processor. In addition to that, the laptop, will also be equipped with a “desktop class” RAM.
KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo in a note posted on MacRumors predicts Apple to offer up to 32GB of desktop RAM. The manufacturing is expected to begin in the fourth quarter.
Apart from the 15-inch model, Apple is expected to start production of new 13 and 15-inch MacBook Pros. This however could begin earlier, may be by the third quarter of 2017.
The 13- and 15-inch MacBook Pro will both get seventh-generation Intel Kaby Lake chips. Intel unveiled the Kaby Lake early January and is aimed at gamers, enthusiasts, and mainstream PC users.
Built on the 14nm+ process node, the Kaby Lake series of processors offer better speed and performance. The top Kaby Lake chip is the Intel Core i7 7700K with a base clockspeed of 4.2GHz and a Turbo clockspeed of 4.5GHz.
Incorporating the latest chipsets from Intel can be a real game changer for Apple when it showcases the MacBook Pro 2017 model. There is no official date announced but you can expect a new Mac between April and November.
The last 15-inch MacBook Pro was unveiled in October, 2016. It came with 6th Generation Intel Core i7 quad-core silicon and AMD Radeon Pro 450/455 graphics. It was the thinnest and lightest MacBook Pro ever with super-fast SSDs and up to 2.3 times the graphics performance over the previous generation.
The new MacBook Pro, weighing at just 1.83 kg, featured 16GB of memory and 256GB of flash storage. Other highlights included a larger trackpad, a new keyboard, Touch Bar, Touch ID and four Thunderbolt 3/USB-C ports.
