Intel appoints new MD to lead India operations

Anand Ramamoorthy is the newly minted managing director at Intel Security for India and SAARC.

Ramamoorthy was working as the Director of Sales and Marketing, South Asia before being appointed to the new position. He shall replace Jagdish Mahapatra, who was managing director, India for Intel Security from 2012 to 2016.

intel officeRamamoorthy’s key responsibilities will include driving enterprise-centric product revenues, strengthening the customer base across verticals, fostering the channel ecosystem, and positioning India for rapid non-linear growth in the coming years.

His reporting authority shall be Gavin Struthers, president, Intel Security Group – Asia Pacific. Before taking up the responsibility at Intel Security, Ramamoorthy was responsible for driving sales across all product categories with OEMs, LOEMs, enterprises and government businesses.

The highly experienced technology leader comes with 16 years of experience spanning across engineering, sales, marketing, strategy and business unit management in mobile computing and consumer electronics.

He earlier worked as Managing Director & Country Head of Harman India where he built the consumer lifestyle business from scratch and set India operations on the path for becoming a $300M business. Ramamoorthy, then relocated to India in 2008 after spending 12 years working in the US. Prior to Harman, he held senior leadership positions at Marvell and Freescale semiconductor.

Ramamoorthy has a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from IIT, a Master’s degree in Science and an MBA from a leading US university. Ramamoorthy is a frequent speaker at industry events and conferences.

The change of guard was announced right after Intel revealed its ongoing projects at the Intel Developers Conference in San Francisco.

The company had unveiled Intel Project Alloy which is an all-in-one VR solution that features computer and sensors integrated directly into the headset.

The many products that came out last year included McAfee Email Gateway, McAfee Vulnerability Manager, McAfee Network Threat Response Software, McAfee Quarantine Manager, McAfee Enterprise Mobility Management, and McAfee Asset Manager. It also sold next gen firewall offerings to Forcepoint which was formerly Raytheon Websense.
