InFocus, the US-based company popular for its LCD projectors, has just released a modular laptop that can have two operating systems, giving users the ability to separate both work and personal.
The Kangaroo Notebook is designed for those looking to create their own personalised mobile computer, creating separate PC experiences that are independent in each other. In simple terms, two PCs in one.
The modular PC is available as a packaged bundle and comes with a lightweight laptop dock and two interchangeable Kangaroo Mini PCs running on Windows 10.
It comes loaded with 2GB of RAM, 32GB of eMMC storage, and an Intel Z8350 Cherrytrail CPU. The 11.6″ HD laptop dock also features a keyboard, Synaptics Clickpad, battery, microphone and webcam.
On the battery front, InFocus claims the PC can give up to five hours of backup.packs a 37 watt-hour battery which of backup.
“With Kangaroo Notebook, we put the power to create private, individualized computing experiences directly into the hands of our customers,” said Ben Chu, head of Kangaroo sales.
“The modular design of this new mobile computing bundle gives our customers a different level of flexibility and control over how they want to manage personal computing, particularly in the home.”
The notebook is currently available in North America for an introductory price of $299. InFocus will only begin to ship products by mid-October.
