“As part of our refund and recall program, we are offering you a complimentary Hero5 Black upon return of your Karma with all accompanying parts and accessories,” a GoPro email to customers stated.

The action camera, which has a price tag of $400, will begin shipping mid-December. Customers can initiate the reimbursement on the website or by calling the support. Users who purchased the Karma bundles that included the camera and grip must return both to get a refund.

Some 2,500 drones were recalled on November 8 after reports of power losses during operation. The company halted all shipments and will resume new versions after it determines the cause of the malfunctions.

Chief Executive Nick Woodman earlier said the company was working in close coordination with both the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Federal Aviation Administration. ” We are very sorry to have inconvenienced our customers and we are taking every step to make the return and refund process as easy as possible,” he added.

GoPro Karma went on sale last month for about $800.
