Google announces new HP Chromebook for education

Google this past week announced a new Chromebook for schools. The HP Chromebook x360 11 G1 Education Edition, as the name suggests, is made in partnership with Hewlett Packard (HP).

The new convertible will feature a USB-CTM charging and optional stylus, besides camera capabilities designed for the specific needs of schools.

We don’t have any other details on the hardware or pricing.But you can be assured of all the nifty features that the recent Chromebooks for teachers and students have come equipped with. It will also include Chrome OS’ new ability to run Android apps from the Play Store.

The 360 degree convertible Chromebook will be launched sometime in mid-April. Google made the announcement in a blog post on March 2. The role of technology in education will continue to grow in 2017, it said, noting how its Chromebooks are “powering global classrooms into the future”.

Acer Chromebooks for education

Recently, we had two new Chromebooks for education from Acer in the form of Acer Spin 11 and Acer N7.

Acer Chromebook Spin 11 came with a 11.6-inch touchscreen, Intel Celeron quad-core processor N3450 or Intel Celeron dual-core processor N3350, 4GB/8GB RAM and 32GB/64GB storage. Users also get dual webcams (1MP and 5MP) and a Wacom EMR (Electro-Magnetic Resonance) stylus to write and draw directly on the screen

Acer N7 has the same 11.6-inch (1366×768 resolution) display, Intel Celeron N3060 processor, 4GB RAM and 16GB/32GB storage. There are touchscreen as well as non-touchscreen models on this one. The touchscreen one sells at a price of $307.
