Gionee launches 8 new phones and all of them have bezel-less displays across different budgets

Chinese mobile phone company Gionee has just dropped numerous releases at once, with eight phones in total being launched in one day, expanding the company’s portfolio significantly and adding extra weight to the budget smartphone segment, with all of its new offerings coming with bezel-less displays

The company held an event in China on November 26 and the phones in question range from flagship-grade Android smartphones to budget handsets, with all of them going the bezel-less route. The new phones announced are the S11, the S11S, S11 lite, M7, M7 Power, M7 Plus, M7 mini and the F205. The company had been prepping for the launch, days before the actual event, with various teasers and feelers being sent across in China.

S11

Starting with the S11 series, the S11 will be the flagship of the series and will come with the MediaTek Octa-core Helio P23 chipset. The phone comes with a FullView5.9-inch display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and an HD+ resolution. Internally, the phone features a 6GB configured RAM with 64GB of internal storage. The phone comes with dual cameras on the front as well as the back. On the rear is a 16MP + 5MP sensor and on the front, is a 16MP sensor with an 8MP one. The phone comes with Android Nougat 7.1 with Amigo 5.0. It will retail for roughly $275.

S11S

The Gionee S11S features a little more power, coming with a rear camera combination consisting of a 20MP sensor + an 8MP sensor. On the front, the phone will pack a 16MP + 8MP camera combination. The screen will also be large, with a 6-inch AMOLED display, similar to the S11. Gionee will be marketing the S11S for China alone, so it is unlikely that an international variant will be available any time soon. It will feature the same memory and RAM as the S11 but comes with the MediaTek Helio P30 chipset. The powerhouse handset will have a price tag that will go no lesser than $500.

S11 lite

Smaller than the previous two, the S11 lite has an octa-core Snapdragon processor that is clocked at 1.4GHz. This will make its way to international shores, along with the S11 and will also feature a relatively large display despite its name, with the screen being 5.7-inches big and with an aspect ratio of 18:9. It features an HD+ resolution using FullView and comes with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. This one comes with dual cameras at the back as well, with the rear cameras being a 13MP + 2MP combination and a single 16MP camera on the front for clearer selfies. The budget offering will retail for around $200.

M7

The M7 comes with an octa-core MediaTek Helio P30, clocked at 2.3GHz with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Similar to the S11S, it will also pack a 6-inch AMOLED display. The optics on the rear consist of a primary 12MP sensor coupled with a secondary 8MP sensor and will be slightly cheaper than the S11S at a price of just $422.

M7 Power

This phone will run with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It will feature a 6-inch FullView display with a 1140×720 resolution. At the back is a 13MP camera and on the front, is an 8MP one. The ‘Power’ moniker will justify the 5,000mAh battery. It will be priced somewhere below the $300 mark.

M7 Plus

The M7 Plus uses a Snapdragson 660 processor with 6GB of RAM. and 128GB of internal storage, but we might not even see this phone on international markets as it seems the company will make it available only in China. It is supposed to come with wireless charging and AI along with speech recognition, all built-in.

M7 mini

The cheapest of the M series offerings, it will feature the Snapdragon 425 chipset along with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. There is also a 5.5-inch FullView display on-board with the same screen ratio as the others and an HD+ resolution We get an 8MP camera on the front and the back. 4,000mAh battery powers the phone and it will come with a price tag of $210.

F205

The last phone on this list, the F205 packs a 5.45-inch HD+ resolution display with FullView as well, and is powered by a MediaTek 6739 processor, along with 2GB of RAM and 16B of internal storage. On the back is an 8MP camera and there is also a 5MP camera on the front as well. Powering the phone is a 2,670mAh and should be the cheapest offering of the lot, with a price of $150.
