Alienware 17, a power gaming laptop that capitalizes on eye tracking

Alienware 17 takes gaming to a whole new level. The VR ready laptop boasts of NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10-series GPUs and comes with advanced eye tracking hardware and software from Tobii.

Introduced by Alienware, a computer manufacturer that is a subsidiary of Dell, Alienware 17 comes equipped with Intel Core i7 K series processor, RGB LED lighting, TactX keyboard and 15.6-inch FHD IPS display.

“Alienware understands the value of eye tracking as it relates to the interaction between gamer and machine,” commented Oscar Werner, president of Tobii Tech.

Oscar asserted that Tobii solution in the Alienware 17 can bring gamers experiences and insights unlike any other seen in gaming PC.

The flagship notebook contains several new features such as Wake on Glaze, a feature that allow users to wake the notebook looking directly at the Alienware logo, and Keyboard Lights that has the ability to illuminate a region the user is currently looking, thereby optimizing power management.

There is also Autolock which locks a device when the user is away and Stay Awake/Dim Screen that informs the device when the user is engaged with the screen

Looking to get your hands on one? Alienware 17 will offer free Standard Edition copy of Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs 2, the action-adventure game and sequel to 2014 blockbuster Watch Dogs, for those among the first to purchase.

Alienware 17 owners also have the chance to play with over 40 additional Tobii Eye Tracking Enabled titles.

Alienware 17 will start selling from September 20.
