Alcatel tease new Series 1, 3 and 5 due for release next month

Alcatel has teased its new line-up for 2018, consisting of three different series of phones that will be based off three different segments in the market. While the company will not be making an appearance at CES, the company has teased its new releases to show the world what is to come. We will likely see the company’s offerings coming February during the Mobile World Congress.

The three new phones that the company has teased to the world are the Alcatel 1, the Alcatel 3 and the Alcatel 5. Going the Nokia route in their device naming scheme, in ascending order, the Alcatel 1 series will be the most affordable in the series, especially for those who cannot afford the other options. Despite, Alcatel will offer 18:9 Full View displays for even its entry level series along with premium build and a stylish design. The Series 3 phones will be affordable mid-rangers that pack in dual cameras, faster processors and premium build and design along with high-resolution displays.

The 5 series from Alcatel will feature high-end specs for flagship killing responsibilities, complete with Full View displays, face unlocking abilities and much more. Alcatal will hope to dominate the flagship market with this tier of phones. As we can see from the promotional images, all phones have a fingerprint sensor at the back, with the 1 series and the 5 series also featuring single-camera sensors on the rear as well. Alacatel will be effectively retiring the Idol nameplate with these new series. Each of the series will fall in the price range of $100, $200 and $300. Owned by TCL, who is becoming rising star in the TV sector, has been pushing for partnerships for sale of its smartphones. In India, the company has partnered with online retail giant Flipkart and in the US, the company will hope to maintain the same relationship with Amazon as well.

According to CNet, considering that each of the series will consist of numerous phones, we might see some changes in the same model in some regions compared to others. For example, we might see some phones that will come with dual-cameras while others will come with just a single camera sensor. We’ll know more about the details and specifications of the phones next month when the company unveils them at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
